View Full Version : If You Plan On Gossipping, Get Your Story Right!

I've been having major issues with a large group of my friends in the past month at college. Tonight they just had to continue starting shit with me.
Wednesday nights, one of the bars in town has $0.35 wings and $6.00 pitchers of bud light. I don't eat wings and bud light sounds as thirst quenching as drinking my own piss. Plus with everyone making an effort to piss me and another one of our friends off, I just wouldn't enjoy it. So when one of my friends asked me if I was going out tonight to that bar, I said no. I wasn't in the mood for drinking and walking all the way to and from town from campus. Also, it's REALLY annoying being sober around drunk people. Drunk people are anything but funny when around sober people. They are generally obnoxious and rude. She seemed to accept that, bought her dinner, then we went back to the science department. I told her I was going to go back to my apartment for the night and left.
I got one text from the girl I was talking to asking if I was going to come out, but I already told her what I was doing and I was in the middle of playing MW2 so I didn't answer immediately. Then I got a text from another one of the girls in my group saying, "Thanks for telling us we are not fun when were sober".
This means two things. One: They are talking shit about me. Two: The first bitch can't keep a REALLY freaking simple story straight. What the fuck? How do you go from "It's not fun being sober around a bunch of drunk people" to "You aren't fun when you are sober."? Obviously GPA doesn't prove a damn thing as far as intelligence (more of an indicator of effort) because for some smart people, they are fucking dumb.

In the words of a writer working for will smith's at one point director's sponsoring company:
"You are the dumbest smart person I have ever met in my life!"
and as a guy on P&T's Bullshit!:
"The foolishness of that statement is so severe, that I can only ascribe it to higher education. You have to have gone to college to say something that stupid."
I got hit on by two or three black girls for a few months in Highschool and forever after I was 'that white guy that banged those three black hoes" despite the fact that I told them off ('cuz they were skanks) every time they said something.
Same shit different toilet, eh?

I've dropped that statement multiple times. Smith actually said that line once in I, Robot.

Oh yes. This sounds exactly like my hometown. In high school, people made it seem like I was getting more sex than I really was. When someone came up about me having sex with someone, I would laugh and say "I'm just so awesome because I can have sex with them and they are still somehow a virgin!"
Yes, I did have a lot of two week relationships. It was high school. C'mon. However, I did not sleep with all of my boyfriends.
My favorite was when a boyfriend broke up with me and started going out with my relatives, I heard that I broke his heart. I started laughing and said "Yeah. I broke his heart. His new girlfriend is a relative of mine and he told me he hates me and never wants to speak to me when I did absolutely nothing."

Yet another reason I'm avoiding universities when I do get to college.
Too many idiot youngsters still in high school mode "OMG did you know that GreenDay hates drunk people!"
I have to agree with you very much so, that drunk people are the most annoying thing on earth when you are sober.

Oh yes, the rumors.
I apparently know where every strip club is in the 50 mile radius. Despite me only going to one, once. Thats right, one time.
Slept with every woman that I ever met. I didn't know that I did. But hey, I guess its true:rolleyes:
I'm married and and 3 kids. Only been engaged and I do not have any kids. Soooooo?

It really was your thread on being a DD that I really came up with how I phrased it to my friend.

Lmfao, yes this happened to me, I pretty much told all my coworkers I could not stand the new girl. And when asked if I didn't like her by her I admitted yes I don't like you.
When someone else told my boss the story of waht happened. it was that I told her "Everyone here hates you"

Powerboy: maybe people wouldn't spread so many rumors about you if you'd stop taking those kids you don't have to the strip clubs you've never been in :)

Sometimes it's good to see how easily people gossip.
I got an idea at work to start mingling with this much, much older guy and arranging bathroom breaks at the same time as him, just to get Ann and her hens clucking about it.
Then we started showing up to work wearing the same colors....we'd plan on what color what day. Oh my gosh, it was SO funny to hear the whispering and the clucking.
The best part was when Ann finally confronted me and asked me what it was all about, and I responded "Well, we did it just to get you and your friends talking about us!", she nearly burst into tears and walked away and didn't speak to me until I transferred out of the department.

You ever talk to the people about what happened? Could have been a joke that didn't work through text.

The only gossip that had gone about me is
1: I'm a faggot. (... yeah... sure. I think lack of attraction from both makes me a nonsexual if anythign)
2: I'm a psychopath. (I've heard this from numerous people, from friends, ex, coworkers, internet, customers, vast majority rules )
3: I'm dumb. ( Not so true)
4: I've had brain surgery. (Nope. That giant scar you think you see is a giant tumor. Get your crap right)
Other then that, nothing.

GreenDay, have you ever considered hanging out with older people? People who have already graduated? If that's not comfortable, maybe hanging out with more independent types of college kids versus the overgrown high schooler "My mommy and daddy are paying for my schooling so I can party all the time and flunk out!" types.

I don't mind people outside of regular college age. It's just tough to find them and meet them. I'm just glad at least one of my friends is normal and we can hang out and stuff without having to deal with the drama.

Teehee. I've heard more crap about me.
That I cheated on some boyfriends. Um. Nope. As much as you want to paint me as the bad guy, I'm not. There are other reasons I broke up with the boyfriends and sex had nothing to do with it in any way, shape,or form.
That I'm a bitch...oh wait...that's true :p

Some somehow get the expression I'm made of money. Want jewery. Trips to out of state (sans me of course. That would be a wasteful trip). Clothes. It's amazing how quickly money can go bye bye since I get confused. Not even a thanks.

I've also heard that I am some ungrateful person who just asks for things. Funny. I hate when people pay for me. I don't ask for things. Hell, I keep quiet about it. As for the ungrateful part, I've been told many times to stop saying thank you because I said it so many times.
People have been asking me about my Seattle trip and why my host wasn't there. There has been talk about many things that were going on. The truth is: my host had to work and the trip was going to take a loooong time. We didn't get back until the early morning and my host had to be at work at 9 pm, while we were still on the road. That they understood. Glad I could clarify.
It's truly mind boggling what people think of me. I may be a bitch, but I know when to turn it off. Mainly,I'm a bitch when it comes to reality checks and I couldn't tell you how many times people have thanked me for it after they stopped being mad.

People often misconstrue a reality check and being told about things they need to fix as being a bitch or being a shit head. I know I would rather have it where people are honest and straight forward with me.
One thing I despise are people who spread rumors and gossip without getting the story right.
I'll take the criticism of someone who has a problem with me at face value when they say it to my face. People who have a problem with me but dont come right to me and address it are not people I want to associate with. I've cut out many a person from my life because they can't muster up the cajones to speak to me personally about the problems that they have.

And....moving on.
I'm really lucky that I'm friends with most of the people in my department, we all get along, and there's no malicious gossip. Quite a few of my friends are in history, and it's just bloodthirsty. Gah. I couldn't do it.

Yeah Admin. I'm pretty lucky that my friends don't do the malicious gossiping also. Although, so far, in my major, I have not been able to fit in with people. The people in the English club are a bit snooty and stuck up and won't give me the time of day.
I hope the people in Education are much better.
