Many of you who know me on facebook already know this happened and I considered putting this under sightings, but I know it is way to hot button to not get closed.
On my way to work today I was stopped at a stoplight, a guy pulled up next to me and did the "roll down your window" hand gesture like there might be something wrong with my car. I roll down my window and he yells out "proud to be a fag, learn how to read and get yourself a Bible you fucking disgusting fag." He then proceeded to throw an empty drink cup at me.

And people ask me why I hate Utah and Christianity... I think that sums it up better than any matter of debate. THAT is what Christianity is about... not love and kindness like so many like to claim, no it's about blind hatred... disagree with me, sorry, live a day of my life and experience this stuff for yourself and you'll see the truth. Christianity is about love of yourself and fuck everyone else.
I keep hearing posters here tell me "but oh, it's different where I am"... great, I have never experienced that, if I had, maybe things would be different... right now, I don't want to give Christ a chance to redeem himself, last time I did his so called church used my donations to fight against my rights.

You know, I try to be tolerant of Christianity I really do, but the deliberate ignorance, the blind faith, and the bigotry do not allow me to. A friend of mine is having a hard time reconciling her faith and her sexuality, because she honestly believes she must turn away from her god in order to accept her sexuality. How is this right? How can your religion dictate who you love? It's bull.

Logic and real moral standards apparently have no place in Christianity. I hold nothing against you for your hatred of Christianity.

My brother is gay and a practicing Catholic. He was exceedingly annoying this Lent as he gave up caffeine...which I don't think he'll do again.

This Lent I gave up religion... I think I'll keep this one going... 40 days free from religion isn't enough.

All I have to say is that hearing this kind of stuff really makes me ashamed to say that I'm a Christian, because these "bad apples" you hear about seem to be what many people judge all Christians by.

Smiley, you really need to get the hell out of Utah. Seriously.

I concur with the "get out of Utah" sentiment. You've said before that this isn't financially possible right now, so I suggest in the meantime you cover up the bumper sticker or whatever set off this jerk. It's awesome that you're out, but I'm concerned (as I'm sure we all are) for your safety and well-being.

hence my solicitation for advice both on CS and Facebook (and I guess now here :p ) on what self defense tech is available and if anyone knows the laws regarding the possession and use of them in Utah.

The problem isn't Christians, the problem is douchebags who use lipservice to their religion to justify their prejudice to themselves so they don't have to feel guilty.

Christianity hardly has the douchebag market cornered, if it weren't for Christianity they'd be using some other pathetic excuse to justify it.

I'm also weighing in on the side of "get out of Utah ASAP", that place is poison for you.

Yup gotta agree on that one. You couldn't pay me enough to live in Utah I would HATE IT.

Oregon is pretty cool, gay friendly....:D

I wish I had enough money to start up a fund...

Hey! Maybe all the fratchers should set up a commune!

No thanks, I like my property. And no offense, but I don't think I could live with all of y'all for an extended time.

I'm pretty sure that commune bit was said in jest. Do you really expect a bunch of people who only know each other online to suddenly band together and start a life relying on each other? I don't think anyone else does.
