I can't even begin to put into words how wrong I think this is. If it were me, I don't care how much money I made off them, I would kick SCs like this out the door and tell them never to come back!
It's not an all white country, it's not an all white world! If you want to go some exclusive club that's just for white people fine, but if you plan to use commercial establishments you should be prepared to deal with employees of all colors and nationalities.
I will never understand people like this.
Also, big thumbs down to the Hotel management for going along with this RIDICULOUS request! Think for a moment what that teaches...

OK. What the customers demanded and the hotel gave into is just completely jacked up, but the guy suing the hotel for $75,000 over it? That is the biggest load of bullshit in this entire story.
The suit doesn't say anything about him being fired for trying to wait on the people or any direct insults or assaults towards him. He was going to do his job and his boss saved him from what could've and would've been a bigger ordeal than it was.
Would I not stay at this hotel because of what they promote? Damn straight. Do I think this guy should be paid? Hell no!

Why isn't he suing the customers?
Oh yeah, cuz the hotel has more money, silly me.
Don't get me wrong; it's certainly not on to cater to bigots in this way, but this guy is simply using the situation to affect a gimmie grab. He's not winning any friends by demanding a crapload of money for "hurt feelings".

I don't really see a reason to sue. If I was a waitress there I don't think I would want to serve someone like that especially if there was a chance I would get treated like crap due to race. What if he waited on them and ended up getting treated like dirt? Would he sue because the hotel allowed him to go into the situation?

The hotel had made their desire to tolerate racism explicit, and therefore created a hostile work environment.
He's got a good case, and I hope he wins.

Agreed.
What is more important at the end of the day? Retaining business or lining the pockets at the expense of several employees?
I agree, and hope he wins, but I hope he doesn't get the full $75000. That does seem a little excessive.

Those "guests" would love this idiot. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/26/larry-whitten-hotel-owner_n_333817.html
I gotta wonder at the no "foreign accents", too. So, they only wanted whites with an "American" accent? Nobody from Australia, Scotland, etc.?

Or ones who can pull a "reverse House" (Hugh Laurie is British and his American accent is faked IIRC)

A British couple made the demand? What about their own accents? Does this mean the hotel staff couldn't service them at all since THEY had foreign accents?
This store is completely messed - there isn't a single part that isn't f-ed up.

Hmm maybe it was actually racism of a different sort.
"Ha ha silly americans leave our country and now you have to serve us"
