  • Is there a right reason to hate something?

I have noticed a problem in recent years that a writer will present their story and say "here it is" then reviewers will take the property and twist plot points, give it a different genre, or in other ways present to their readers/viewers a skewed view of what the thing is while saying "I hate it for these things"

I have no problem with people hating something for a thing the show did or how the show plays, or book, magazine, video game, etc. However when someone tells me "this thing killed your cat" when what the thing did is feed my cat it causes a loss of trust in that reviewer. I feel that reviewers should have to have the same journalistic integrity everyone else is supposed to practice.

They shouldn't get to badly review something, not give it a bad review rather review it on accidental or intentionally misunderstood information. I believe doing so should result in the same disciplinary action any other employee would face when willfully doing their job incorrectly.
