  • Bernard Law is dead

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/cardina...obit-1.4457640

I'll just repost what I said on facebook.

Bernard Law, a man who spent decades covering up the most horrific crimes against children, is now worm food. I hope the worms feast upon his wretched carcass.

I'm sorry there isn't a hell for him to go to. I'm more sorry the Catholic Church chose to harbor this fugitive for over a decade. I'm even more sorry the current Pope has remained silent over his crimes, except when it comes to sending letters of condolences. But most of all, I'm sorry he will never have to answer for his actions to the living. Whatever slim chance his victims had of getting justice is now gone forever.
    Customer: I need an Apache.
Gravekeeper: The Tribe or the Gunship?

There's a couple of reasons why he was harboured.
    1. even if he was himself an abuser, the Catholic Church consider it their jurisdiction- presumably unless actual rape occurred.
    2. it's actually official Church doctrine not to publicise anything unless an accused priest is sanctioned- and even then, to publish the sanction only, so from their point of view, he erred only in not properly punishing the priests involved.
