  • Boobie McKlitz Wants to Be Your Friend

I recently received a friend request from an obvious spam profile on Facebook. It said, "Amari Klitz wants to be your friend."

First, it's obvious that they're not trying anymore. Second, it says "Amari Klitz has updated his profile picture." "His" profile picture is of a scantly clad woman with her butt pointing at the camera. This profile has attractive, scantally clad women in suggestive poses with the message, "Touch Me " "www.[insert obviously pornographic web page here].com."

The worst part is that this is on Facebook. If I accidentally clicked "Confirm Request," the rest of your friends will see, "Catcul and Amari Klitz are now friends." That would've been embarrassing at best, and harmful to my job prospects at worst.

When I checked this profile out, Amari Klitz already had 4 friends.
Corey Taylor is correct. Man is a "four letter word."

I've known idiots who actually think someone like that is genuine. It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't sock puppets.

That being said, if who you choose for friends on Facebook could be harmful to your job prospects, I frankly suggest you review your privacy settings on Facebook.

We had a customer fire one of his GSMs for posting near-nudes and frankly some very vile missives about some of their customers on her FB wall and had made it public. She had also put on where she worked. Some how some of the customer found out and canceled their future business. It cost him and her.
How smart do you have to be to not put so much identifying information on your wall. If you have to have a business related page then create another page under a different name for family/friends/weird stuff.

I deleted a friend IRL and on Facebook because his wall is pretty much 90 % anti-muslim rhetoric. I also unfollow people who post a bunch of serious topics so they don't show up on my wall.

Unfortunately, just like the mute button on the phone, there's no guarantee the privacy settings work.

I suppose an upside to being antisocial is that I'm less likely to share my thoughts and feelings on anything with anyone… so my Twitter and Facebook accounts are darned-near barren…
