Okay, the economy is in the toilet, crime is going up. people are getting robbed, cars are getting stolen, so WHY OH WHY OH WHY OH FUCKING WHY do people crank up their music so loud you can hear the speakers disentegrating, roll down the windows, and then LEAVE THE CAR UNATTENDED?????
Really, why not just put a big neon sign in your back window that says "I've got the intelligence of a wilted turnip! Steal my car!"
What the hell are they trying to show me? That their speakers can't handle their shitty music? That they would love someone to hop in their unlocked car and drive away with it? I'm assuming the keys are still in, my system won't work without keys. Half the time THE CAR IS STLL RUNNING.
I saw one pathetic moron who had the entire back seat taken up by speakers. The speakers were half as big as the shitty little ride they were in. WTF is that about?
And today it was freaking raining, the dude next to me at the light had his windows down so the noise would blast out into the street. It gets 115 degrees here with 100 percent humidity, I've seen them cruising around with the windows down. So either they are choosing to roast in their cars so they can serenade me, a stranger, with "music" I consider to be about on par with the sounds of a dog straining at stool, or they are choosing to pay for a sound system rather than an AC in the suffocating, frequently lethal sweatbox that is my hometown.
And the noise being blasted is never, say, NPR. I'm just sayin.'
Someone please enlighten me.

And most of the time, the cars are worth more than the stereos.
Honestly, I don't know why people do this. All I can guess is that it's their own way of saying, "HEY EVERYONE, LOOK AT ME! LOOK!" I honestly can't think of any other reason.
It's really lame when they get the speakers that play the bass really loud, so that when you are close to their car, all you can hear is the base, and it's vibrating your car.
Really, why not just put a big neon sign in your back window that says "I've got the intelligence of a wilted turnip! Steal my car!.
you answered your own question
because they have the intelligence of a wilted turnip :D

Oh I hate that. I can be listening to my iPod. Then I cannot hear mine and all I hear instead is someones vibrating POS.

Try getting it near constantly ALONG with hoon drivers. I live behind a shopping centre and we get idiots doing burnouts in the carpark while playing their doof-doof music.

I think you might find it's because it's an effective security system... who in their right mind would want to be seen trying to steal something with such horrendous noises coming from it?? :p
Now, what the hell's wrong with wilted salamis?????? (how do you wilt a salami?)
One word (to spend people into a fit...) Macca's!
(and, for all you visual types... Macca's on a Friday and Saturday night... in the carpark... doof!)

Have you ever seen one of these people parked in a parking lot, with only the car battery on, and the stereo playing at full blast? I have, and usually, there will be at least three or four other people huddled around the car, and they'll be fiddling with the stereo system, playing a song, then turning it off, then playing another one for a minute or so, and then turn it to another song, and then back to another song that they were playing a few minutes earlier, and so on. And they'll be chatting back and forth as they do this.
But chatting about what? Ways to crank the stereo even louder so that they can disturb everyone else even more?
I once saw a bumper sticker that said: "If I wanted to hear the crap coming out of your car's speakers, I'd be IN your car."

Me too. :D
I hate when people are blasting their music so loud that it rattles my house/car/ear drums.
Sheesh. I guess some people *like* getting death glares from the people around them. Not the sort of attention I like to garner...but hey, to each their own.

Hey, I like playing my doof doof music, I do play other music, but damn it I spent all that money on a sound system for my car so I could actually hear and enjoy my music...
... and occasionally force others to as well. :p

Steal it? No.
Aim it at the nearest brick wall, put it in gear , lock the gas in and wish it the best of luck? NOW we're talking!:D

I wish I had a car so that I could serenade this people with Poison and Motley Crue played at full volume. :D
Note: I do like other, heavier bands, but I can think of nothing worse to torment the lovers of doof doof music. XD

Really heavy bass music makes me feel uncomfortable. The sound itself is unpleasant, but it also gives me this unsettled feeling in my stomach. I suppose there's some physiological reaction going on.
Forcing others to listen to your music (at a volume the average person can't tune out) is very rude. It's one thing to catch a few notes from a passing car, but its another when its so loud that conversation needs to come to a stop until the car is a block away.

Maybe they're suffering from constipation and find the music fixes that? XD

Glad I was able to provide entertainment. I call it doof-doof because that's really all you can hear when it goes past.
