because he wanted to avoid chores! (http://www.sphere.com/crime/article/john-caudle-14-killed-parents-to-avoid-chores-police-say/19331964?icid=main|aim|dl1|link4|http%3A%2F%2Fwww. sphere.com%2Fcrime%2Farticle%2Fjohn-caudle-14-killed-parents-to-avoid-chores-police-say%2F19331964)
He was driving his step-dad's truck when he was pulled over. He was roughly 130 miles from his house. After shooting his parents, he played on the computer and watched tv. The next day, he drove the truck to his school and he seemed "happy".

Do they still have hard labour? Send the kid there, chores for 14 hours a day.

Exactly. You don't just shoot someone because you don't want to do chores. There must be a lot more behind this.

Unfortunately, there are cases like this that aren't related to abuse or some sort of antisocial disorder. More often than not it comes from a lack of discipline and then a revolt when the parents try to instill it. The more parents let their kids walk all over them, the more it can lead to things like this. It could've also been a peer-pressure thing. His friends giving him a hard time because he has to do chores and not what they want him to do.

A lot of the time the media gives you only little tidbits of information, passing it off as news, instead of getting the whole picture.

I say sociopath. Send that kid to some 3rd world country to make soccer balls for 5 cents an hour working 16 hour days.
He thought he had it bad with chores, well if we do this, he'll wish he never shot his parents.

I agree this article is leaving stuff out.
Definitely a sociopath, definitely something going on in his head. Not that it means he'll get treatment. He'll be lucky if he isn't tried as an adult.

Yup one of my mom's friend's is seeing this in her grandson-zero discipline, no follow through on threats of discipline, now that the grandmother is stepping in and trying-the boy has threatened to kill her, because he believes due to his upbringing that he's "entitled" to whatever he wants(he's never been told no before now, he has never developed the skill to deal with it and he gets very angry and violent when told no)-the grandmother is trying to send him to boot camp.
