This may have been done before I don't recall....BUT....what is a song/artist that you love and won't always admit to in public :D
Mine is Bread ...as in David Gates and Bread....they were really syrupy and sappy in the 70s but damn I love 'em :p
I like the Bee Gees too...what of it :D

I don't really care what people think of what I listen to, but I do listen to some stuff that people might think of as a guilty pleasure. I like Britney Spears (mostly her new stuff), and Avril Lavigne, both of which people like to make fun of. But meh, they make fun music that I enjoy.
I do have one or two Hilary Duff songs. :P And I own all of the Glee albums, but again I don't care if people know that. Sometimes I won't admit to them in certain groups, but that doesn't happen often.

I listen to Aqua without any hint of embarrassment. :p
I like Eminem's beats. His site used to have a beat selector (haven't been lately) that would loop. I used to do that when I was in the mood.
I also like some Brittney, and Lady Gaga has some great music, even if the lyrics make no sense whatsoever.

Poison and Duran Duran are the bands that a lot of people think I should be ashamed of liking.
But I'm not. :P

I've been seen at least a few times every week blaring and singing "Hold It Against Me" (Britney) in the car. I love that song.

Three Days Grace.
Should not like them, but I have my reasons. Also Green Day.

Half the music in my iPod I'm embarrassed to let anyone hear. People don't laugh at me for listening to soandso and suchandsuch; it's more "what the ##### is this crap?"
Well, let's see...I don't know that I'm embarrassed necessarily, but I listen to:
Britney Spears
Hannah Montana
Selena Gomez
Also this song is epic. :p At least for a guilty pleasure. ;) "My Boyfriend" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGQEmI3Az8c)
Also huge guilty pleasure song is "You Touch My Tra La La" by Gunther and the Sunshine Girls. :o
.....yes, it's as x-rated as it sounds. :p

OK I will readily admit to listening to enjoying, and liking older Barry Manilow (yes I still have a bunch of the old vinyal records and yes I replaces some of those with CDs esp his 1977 live album).
also KC and the Sunshine Band (and some other 1970s "disco" music when it get played on the oldies stations here in town)

Group X (I love those guys :D)
Kylie Monouge (she's awesome)
Stevie Nicks (been a fan of hers since I was 14 :))
music from various video games (like I'm the only person that does :p)
Why Stevie is considered a guilty pleasure nowadays is the fact that most of the people I hang out with listens to rap and hip hop, and Bill is a metal head.
Just noticed a HUGE mistake in my last edit, thought I'd fix it.

Half the songs some I like would be considered by some to be guilty pleasures. Lol, if I cared what people thought my song list would be a lot shorter, my tastes are very...odd.
There are songs I like by singers I don't like. There is everything from classical to the hardest hard core metal..including rap.
A few britney songs
Kesha
Eminem
Country
etc...
hmm where to begin...

I don't consider Stevie Nicks a guilty pleasure....there is nothing wrong with her :2cents:
Duran Duran rock I like them, and they have been doing some newer stuff that's been interesting.
As for Barry Manilow I used to LOVE him when I was a kid, and John Denver. Now not so much.
My oldest daughter loves Tom Jones....I have no idea why....and I give her shit for it whenever I can :D He's so before her time I don't even know how she discovered him.
ETA: I always have and probably always will love the Carpenters, especially their song Superstar. I was really bummed when Karen Carpenter died many years ago. Her voice was smooooooooooooooth.
Oh and I just found out today that the lead singer from Atlanta Rhythm Section died......sadness. Love them too.
I'm a 70's kid what can I say.

Currently, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Not something I'd usually like, but they've grown on me.
At one point, I liked Linkin Park, but not so much any more.

I noticed that several people in the "worst songs" thread expressed resentment for Ke$ha. I really haven't listened to a whole lot of her music, but I do like the song "Take it Off."
I'll also admit to liking some Bee Gees songs. In fact, a lot of 70s and 80s music brings back memories of working at Wal-Mart, since they used to play a lot of that stuff on the store radio. Even though I sometimes have nightmares about my time at Wal-Mart,* I do have good memories of working there, and those songs usually bring them back.
To add to that, I usually enjoy stuff from the early 80s. I was born in 1982, so I can listen and think "This is what was playing on the radio when I was born. Cool."
*Okay, maybe "nightmares" is an exaggeration, but I really have had dreams where I went back to work there, only to wake up and think "Good, it was just a dream."
^I also like "Take It Off!" I don't know why. I don't like anything else she does.

Ya he can sing I just don't like the quality of his voice. But like you said he's in his 80's, he was hot shit in the 60's...how did my 21 year old ever find him?

two words
"Sex bomb"
In the UK he really came back to the fore with the youth of the day when he released a duet album with the likes of stereophonics her from catatonia (Cheris something) Mouse T (think that was the sex bomb track). This album came out a few years ago and she might have been 16 or so without remembering when it came out that is (actaully I think it was 2000/01 so maybe not 16), but it got him noticed again.
That or she liked his last release which was more gospelish and she worked back from there?
Or the song that had him wearing a caracture mask of himself, never heard the song enough to remember it, but I saw the ending of the video.

Three Days Grace.
What's wrong with Three Days Grace, or is it just not your normal cup of tea?
They're one of my favorites, along with Breaking Benjamin. Was front-row at the concert both of them did with Flyleaf last year. It never occurred to me not to like them. Of course, the band in the novel I'm trying to write has a sound very similar to the two of them in my head, so I might be a little biased.

I subsist mainly on a steady diet of vaguely less-popular alt rock (Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Bush, Deftones, etc) and trance-y things (Conjure One, Massive Attack, Munoz, Mogwai, and such) but one of the biggest genres in my iTunes playlist, which no one ever guesses, is crappy club music. I have a secret addiction to the Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, K$sha... But my most potentially embarrassing musical love affair? Low by Flo Rida (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VVuMIB2hC0). Oh god. I can't explain why, but I looooove this song.
I can't let this news get out, though. I'm known in my more hardcore circles as the girl who went all the way to Belgium to see Rammstein. If they knew I was getting funkay fresh in secret, I'd lose all my street cred! Zomg!

When this song* comes on my mp3 player at break, you can normally see me shuffling in my chair and I likened it to being a baby in one of those door frame bouncer things, happens all the time.
Note this doesnt happen with the Cher version, that normally gets the skip button

AHHHHHHHHH blegh blegh blegh :runaway::runaway: I see she did the cover in 1966 (Tom Jones originally recorded the song in 1965. no heart or soul or emotion in Cher's voice and the music seems flat and forced.
Tom Jones seemed like he put EVERTHING into a song.
yes it IS the music to the song BUT...... decide for yourselves

Hanson.
Except I'll admit it. I'm not proud. They remind me of old Jackson Five circa ABC and The Love You Save.
I'll also cop to John Denver and Abba. I do love me some John Denver.
And Angel. Is Angel a guilty pleasure? I'm to uncool to know.
And while I'm on the subject of embarrassing hair music, remember Nelson? I liked them. I thought their stuff was fun and catchy and I love the fact that Ricky Nelson was their dad. And the husband openly mocks me for loving Eddie Money.
Oh. And Wild Cherry. Go ahead. Laugh. You know you want to.
I've totally dated myself now.

Hey, the new Hanson stuff is pretty good, and unlike most boy bands of their era, they write their own songs and play their own music.

Gaga is great at writing music, and she definitely knows how to dance. It's quite obvious who some of her influences growing up were, with definite shades of MJ and Paula Abdul in there. But her lyrics have always been strange and her videos moreso. Plus, her fashions all seem to be about "Hey, look at what a freak I am," as opposed to actually looking good.

My guilty pleasures are, The Lazy Song (I think it might also be known as Today I Don't Feel Like Doing Anything), and Nickelback. My husband makes fun of me all the time because I listen to "chick rock", but I don't care I like good stuff too.

My wife makes fun of me for having the soundtracks for Saturday Night Fever and Grease in my CD collection. I watched Grown Ups this weekend, and have been stuck on the song Every 1's a Winner by Hot Chocolate since then.
I have a very eclectic music collection -- a little bit of everything from Mozart to Metallica. On the radio, I usually listen to classic rock, country, and NPR. One of my "hobbies" is to use the song ID app on my phone to hunt for songs I hear on the radio.
My mood determines my music choices for the day. I frequently get stuck on a particular song or two sometimes for days on end. Building playlists to fit my mood is a hobby of sorts for me. I pretty much loop my playlists repeatedly until I find another set of songs that seem to fit my mood. It's anyone's guess what songs will strike my interest or why. I even have a mental jukebox for times when I can't actually listen to my chosen playlists, especially at work (which actually helps me keep my sanity at work as I tend to hum and sing to myself).

While I can't stand Kesha, I have to admit the chorus to Tik Tok is pretty kick ass. Probably her best song and her only one that's actually catchy.
I also like Katy Perry's firework. She has a really good voice.
