Now, for those of you who are morally against porn or thinks it's a waste of time, please leave now. This thread is for the discussion of porn by people who enjoy it for whatever reason. I really don't feel like dealing with anyone preaching to me why it is (in their opinion) reprehensible. If you would like to do that, start your own damn thread. Thank you very much.

Now, on to my major point. To wit: When, and more importantly WHY, did anal sex take over the porn business? Seriously. It seems you can't watch a decent porn anymore without some dude jamming it up some chick's pooper. And not everyone (i.e. me) likes watching that particular act.

I know that part of it is that anal sex is taboo and the porn industry is always trying to push the envelope. I also know that a lot of people do enjoy anal sex, both personally and for viewing purposes. I have no issue with that. I would just like to know why I can't seem to get too many decent porns that don't have this facet. Why must it always get to that in the end? (Yes, the pun was fully intentional.)

So, any thoughts on this?

Also, in another vein, who are your favorite performers? Myself, I very much enjoy Gwen Summers' work. I think she is gorgeous and she is certainly very enthusiastic. First off, I am a straight woman, and I do get aroused by softcore porn, but the whole anal thing is such a turn-off. Yes, I'm talking about guy-girl (and sometimes girl-girl) porn. Anal is probably thought of as very taboo; but the nature of porn is taboo in itself IMO. So as long as we use sex to procreate, the porn industry will continue to push the envelope.

There are other things I have problems with. Watching porn is something that is healthy and stimulating, and a good stress reliever. I do have a problem, though, with guys who try to force girls to watch porn with them. Yes, I was with a guy who wanted to put on a porno when we were making out on his couch after our second or third date. I'm not saying couples can't enjoy it together, but when you're just getting to know each other it's a bit weird.

There's also the issue of younger men who have an unrealistic expectation of what real sex is like because they've been so saturated with porn. There was this "True Life" on MTV where this guy literally had NO LIFE because he lived with his Grandma, didn't work, and watched porn all day. I'm sure he knows what he's doing in bed! :rolleyes: I also think that maybe some guys can get desensitized to sex and not take it seriously when they get into a relationship. I guess what I'm getting at here is that all kinds of porn are OK. Whatever floats your boat, you know? But don't let it get into the way of a real sex life (which is a MILLION times better when you're with the right person! :D)

I would like to say that the ridiculous fake boobs, while popular, are not something that I enjoy, generally speaking. As a guy, I prefer women who are both more natural and/or who are petite. If you look up Gwen Summers, you'll get an excellent idea of what I'm saying.

And yes, there is plenty of bad acting. When the badness extends to sex, that is when it is truly awful porn. The better "actresses" in this genre, whatever their theatrical abilities, certainly know how to have sex and enjoy it with enthusiasm and gusto. Enthusiasm is what made Traci Lords such a star--until, of course, her real age was discovered.

As for the designs in pubes....I hate to tell you this, but I have known more than a few women who are neither porn actresses nor strippers that DO do this. Not a majority, certainly, but it is not as uncommon as you may think.

One last thing....while it is rare, I HAVE seen a few porn movies that were well written (for porn) and well acted (for porn) with an actual semblance of a story. Nothing that is Oscar material, certainly. But fun, rather than just several random clips of people boffing away. Some examples: "Chameleons," "The Virgin Whore," "Taboo," "Hot Rackets" (which is fucking HILARIOUS Seventies porn, by the way), "Phoenix Rising," "Jewel Raider" (amusing takeoff on Tomb Raider), "Flashpoint," "One Night in Vegas," "Space Nuts," "Pirates," "The Visitors" (which is almost creepy), and "Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre" (which is at times hilarious and at times amazingly stimulating--sometimes both).

I prefer written porn to dvds. Trashy romance novels because they come across as so ridicules they become funny or the more graphic scenes in Jean Auels earth childrens series which has some AMAZING erotica in it. I also like sites like literotica.

Out of the porn I watch I prefer the soft core stuff (although when I read I like harder core) simply because in shows like the Red shoe diaries the woman tend to be more pretty and less "slutty" looking. I find espeically in vivid porn that the girls are all the same, size zero with DD implants, extension hair and heavy make up. Actually, porn is like that for me too. When I watch porn, it's always just for the sound. If it's visually pleasing, bonus, but that's kind of rare. I am pretty much dead certain that's a female thing. Men are stimulated by what they see. Women can be, too, but are far more stimulated by what's going on in their minds...hence page upon page upon page of what characters are thinking in the average romance novel. Romance novels are female porn...even when they don't have blatant sex scenes in them.
