  • I hereby declare a new Godwin's law.

    the original:
"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1 (100%)."
    The new:
"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Obama approaches 1 (100%)."
and honestly once one of the two happens the other is probably not far behind.

why am I strangely agreeing with you?????

becasue I have seem too many comments on news articles and blogs that somehow out of the blue manage to blame Obama for wierd things such as Casey Anthoney, global climate change/warming, Indian casinos, SARS, etc.

how this leap is made I still wonder.
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

I got one foot on a banana peel and the other in the Twilight Zone.

      This wouldn't be a new Godwin's law. It's Gremcint's Law, or corollary.

There's been a Fratching Law kicking around here for a while too:

"As a Fratching debate grows longer, the probability that someone will resort to pulling out a dictionary and arguing the definition of a word approaches 100%."

Not even necessarily online. I saw a little blurb in a newspaper recently in the opinions section. Whoever the author was was blaming Obama for the nuclear disaster in Japan. Some people simply cannot be reasoned with because they are unable to use any form of logic

Its a standard tactic when someone is losing or has lost and argument but is refusing to accept they are wrong. Attempt to make the other as evil as possible by comparing it to something that is evil.

I have to say that it's very upsetting to be compared to Hitler... why can't they be more original and liken me to Ghengis Khan, huh?

My best guess is that more people are more familiar with Hitler and his insanity rather than Ghengis Kahn.

BTW, Boozy I think you hit the nail on the head.

Tsh, too many people don't read enough. XD There are hundreds of dictators out there to compare someone too.

Btw; if I do get a Godwin's Law reference... would it be cheating to pull the Jew Card? My family is Jewish on my father's side, but I don't practice.
