Love potions in fiction

I can't think of any story where love potions were used successfully, without a hitch, and seen as a good thing.

There's a great quote that applies to this from the series "Once Upon a Time", "All magic comes at a cost." Love potions are proof, yes, you may make them infatuated with you, but once the potion has worn off you have to either keep giving them potion (and making you always aware that it isn't true love) or face their confusion as to what has happened which has a good chance of ruining the relationship completely (of course, leaving you with the guilt of knowing that you just might have had something lasting if you hadn't cheated with the love potion).
