  • Are Spammers Lazy?

Ever since I had received that scam letter from Nigeria, I decided to check my Spam folder to see if I could find any more comedy gold. I found these four e-mails. By themselves, they're not that funny, but put them together, they're hilarious.

Note: I censored the names, links, and pictures, but otherwise left the e-mails intact.

    Hi sweety,
I saw your photo in the social network and realized that we live in the same town.
How about spending a couple of hot weekends together and having fun without any needless questions? ;-)

Just write me in my profile: [link]

Nice try, "ladies." Let's not "waist" time here. If I wasn't already on to you, I would still find the cut-and-paste jobs suspicious. No, I didn't see the pictures or links since Yahoo! blocked them. No, I am not going to WASTE my time or money checking out your pornography. I'm also not going to expose my computer to any of your viruses, either.
Corey Taylor is correct. Man is a "four letter word."

Lazy, or perhaps the idea is that a familiar name might get through a spam filter that blocks the same message from an unfamiliar name, and of course they don't know which is which.

(Not really spam, but this was driving me nuts a few months ago. One of the advantages of advertising with Facebook is supposed to be targeting: they know a lot about people, and can use that to set who sees what. My profile settings are that I am male and interested in men, yet for quite a while I was seeing ads, the kind that look like posts in your newsfeed if you're not paying much attention, for a dating site whose only options were "man seeking woman" and "woman seeking man." They should complain, because they definitely weren't getting their money's worth.)
"My in-laws are country people and at night you can hear their distinctive howl."
