  • Sesame Street Has Too Many Asian-American Characters

Matt Schlapp, the president of the Conservative Political Action Conference, wants to cancel Public Broadcasting System for having one Asian-American character, Ji-Young. PBS wanted the character to help stem the tide of hatred towards Asian in the US.

Consertivites have wanted to cancel PBS sice Nixon was in office.
Corey Taylor is correct. Man is a "four letter word."

Sesame Street has always been diverse. The human actors were (and are) black, white, Asian, Hispanic. Pretty much like America itself. It's a good way for children to learn that people are people, that different cultures are just as valid as their own, and that it's all good.

And they also had some seriously cool stuff, like this kick-ass performance by Stevie Wonder back in the early 1970's.

If you're gonna be one of the people who say it's time to make America great again, stop being one of the reasons America isn't great right now. --Jester

Of course they have. You can't have children getting an education and learning about other people and cultures... But seriously, they'd lose their minds over Kami, the HIV-positive puppet who stars on the South African version, Takalani Sesame.
