I can think of several countries...that once *shot* immigrants trying to cross the border, including one with a certain "Wall" around a major cityOriginally posted by Kimmik View PostName one country that does NOT deport illegal immigrants when caught?
I don't agree with the racial profiling at all. However...if you have one group of people who is committing crimes, unfortunately, you might detain the innocent ones as well. Also, you have to admit that the vast majority of people attempting to cross the border, simply happen to be from Mexico or points further south. No getting around that fact. Unfortunate, but that's the way it is.
Here's something else I've thought recently--maybe the reason that the Mexican leaders are ignoring the problem...is that they *want* their poorer citizens to leave? That is, they don't want to fix the problem...but instead foist it on someone else?

Also I'd like to point out that the UN these days is about as effective as the League of Nations really was. The UN has no spine and can't be taken seriously.Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst. - Starship Troopers

That's why I support a stronger UN and other measures, but that's for another discussion.Originally posted by Greenday View PostAlso I'd like to point out that the UN these days is about as effective as the League of Nations really was. The UN has no spine and can't be taken seriously.

Los Angeles doesn't want to do business with any Arizona companies, so Los Angeles is responsible if the power goes off in their city, not the companies in Arizona. So, you're wrong AGAIN, Hobbs.Originally posted by Hobbs View PostThe point is; AZ is talking about CUTTING OFF PEOPLE'S POWER, and not affecting an economy, which is what LA is doing. They'll be cutting off families from heating and cooling sources (seeing as summer is quickly approaching) and from cooking resources as well.
Then again, I don't expect AZ to be humanitarian about anything now.

Google Wolf Blitzer and the President of Mexico, Calderone.
At a State Dinner a couple of night ago, to the standing ovation of the Democrats, the Mexican President comdemned Arizona's law because of racial profiling. Never mind that Arizona felt so unguarded, so over-run, they had to do something to make the (legal) citizens feel protected.
Then Mr. Blitzer questioned the President of Mexico. One of the questions was what happened to those who sneak into Mexico illegally, can they get a job? Can they get a house to live in? And the President of Mexico said no. They have to fill out paperwork, have a background check to make sure they aren't criminals in their native land. They have to carry their papers with them at all times. Also, if it's found that there is a person in Mexico illegally, they are immediately deported back to their own country.
How then, can he condemn Arizona for doing what his own country does?
The only reason the Mexican President would encourage his people to leave would be to 1. Get U.S. Dollars into his country to help build his country and 2. Get more people out of the country so the government doesn't have to look after them.
The only real thing that will keep the illegals at bay and make everyone happy is by overtaking Mexico and forcing them to the 51st state.Oh Holy Trinity, the Goddess Caffeine'Na, the Great Cowthulhu, & The Doctor, Who Art in Tardis, give me strength. Moo. Moo. Java. Timey Wimey

His country doesn't have laws that require their own citizens to carry documentation proving that they're a citizen and incarcerate and fine them if they fail to provide it when asked.Originally posted by IDrinkaRum View PostHow then, can he condemn Arizona for doing what his own country does?
His country doesn't have laws allowing the people to sue their Law Enforcement departments if they fail to enforce their immigration laws.
There is a large population of "white" people in Mexico. Asians too. A lot of them are white collar workers in cities like Juarez, Guadalajara, Mexico City and a lot are the blue collar type in the tourist towns like Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, etc. They're all legal residents, if not citizens.
PLEASE tell me when the last time was that a "white" person was wrongly detained for being suspected of being in the country illegally. SURELY Fox News, Rush, Beck, O'Reilly and the rest of the lot would've mentioned it by now.
Not hardly. You want to keep the illegal immigration problem at bay? Start going after and penalizing the employers that hire the illegal workers. Eliminate what is drawing the immigrants over. If they can't work, they won't come up.The only real thing that will keep the illegals at bay and make everyone happy is by overtaking Mexico and forcing them to the 51st state.

Unfortunately, it's not the power companies that get the choice to refuse, it's the state elected representative.Originally posted by daleduke17 View PostLos Angeles doesn't want to do business with any Arizona companies, so Los Angeles is responsible if the power goes off in their city, not the companies in Arizona. In other words, the politicians are deciding what the companies do simply to stroke their egos.
