The signs and such must work because the woman who used them only lost by a couple percent in my district and won by 30% in my county (though that doesn't surprise me as we have more upper-class people in our county and they vote republican). This all to a guy who has been in office for a while and has actually been doing a pretty good job.Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. But how do you know that it was the signs and not something else?Originally posted by Greenday View PostThe signs and such must work because the woman who used them only lost by a couple percent in my district and won by 30% in my county (though that doesn't surprise me as we have more upper-class people in our county and they vote republican). Well, she didn't mudsling in her ads. Honestly though, if it wasn't for the signs, I never would have remembered her name.Originally posted by Ipecac Drano View PostBut how do you know that it was the signs and not something else?Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. That may be a contributing factor, but it doesn't point to the signs.Originally posted by Greenday View PostWell, she didn't mudsling in her ads.
What about her opponent(s)? Even if it worked on you, it might not have for other people. If anything, there is no connection between how much money a candidate spends (including signs) and whether they win.Originally posted by Greenday View PostHonestly though, if it wasn't for the signs, I never would have remembered her name."You are a true believer. While Canada is a different jurisdiction with somewhat different rules, I wonder what would have happened if people had worn T-shirts with Chevrolet logos on them (either normal, or with the red circle and bar "don't do this" added) to the polling place during Toronto's municipal election. It was highly polarized, and a map of the city showed a clear dividing line - core supported one candidate, inner suburbs supported the other. How is a Chevrolet logo relevant? The winner's last name is Ford.Originally posted by BlaqueKatt View Postand another example(well two in the article)
WWE Shirts Not Allowed In Polling Places
They mention that "Terminator" stuff wasn't allowed in California polling places when Arnold Schwarzenegger was on the ballot.
