    ----We should have made friends with the Taliban. That's because when the Taliban took over most of Afghanistan, they put all the poppy field growers out of business when they enforced their own strict interpretation of Islam. When the US ran the Taliban out of power, opium production went back into full swing.

    You're forgetting that we were friends with the Taliban. We are the ones that trained and armed them almost 30 years ago and helped them rise to power. We overlooked everything they did, including their support of Al Qaeda's attempt to bomb the World Trade Center in 1993, until we started pulling away in 1997. In 1998 they issued a Fatwa against the US and bombed 2 of our embassies. In 2000 they bombed the USS Cole. We all know what they did in 2001.
    Some People Are Alive Only Because It's Illegal To Kill Them.
