  • The Bushes

Anyone on this side of the Atlantic fed up yet with Republicans gushing about how great the Bushes are yet??? If Jeb decides to run in 2008 I plan on becoming a proud supporter of Michael Schiavo's organization "Terri Pac".

I find it interesting that, for a country that threw off the shackles of an oppressive, hereditary aristocracy, only to start voting for exactly the same thing

I wasn't old enough to vote in the election that Bush Sr. won, and I voted against Bush Jr. both times. I absolutely adored Gore and was very sad that he didn't win, Kerry was more of a "well, he doesn't suck quite as bad" decision.

      Thank god for term limits.

And Jeb? Egads, I don't want him in office. I've had enough of complete morons for the last 6 years.....shudder.....

Tell me about it Rapscallion. I was unimpressed with King Bush the First and am definately tired and disgusted by King Bush the Second. If Dubya had been a democrat over half the stuff he has done would have gotten him impeached considering how much more heinous and offensive his crimes are than the piddance Clinton did. BUt since he's a republican and a favorite of the christian fundies and big business he has to really work to do something bad enough to get the "mainstream" mad at him.

All Clinton did was keep secret he diddled an intern in the oval office.

Bush II has violated international treaties, invaded soverign countries on lies and misinformation in a blatent war of aggression, taken prisoner non-citizens as well as citizens without charging them of crimes only by using executive authority to declare them enemy combatants, violated the geneva protocols on prisoner treatments, basically distroyed social services in america in favor of big business, participated or otherwise profited from election fraud, criinal neglect in the actions after hurricane Katrina among other high crimes and misdemeaners.

So yeah you could say I am very tired of Dubya and the whole way society has changed and turned disgusting. The Republicans and King Bush and all the high fiving backslapping of how much "better" things have gotten. Maybe up on the hill but down in the valley poor people and those barely making it are struggling even harder thanks to them.

In the words of Tom Morello
Clinton was impeached because of a blowjob, nobody ever died of a blowjob.
I don't like Bush at all for the same reasons above and he's given Americans a bad image, but thankfully he provides plenty of ammo for the Daily Show.

Oy vey does it seem like Bush II is trying to see how big a hole he can dig this country into? I mean I read this in the news about him wanting to increase the size of the military:

In an interview with The Washington Post posted online Tuesday, Bush said the military needed to grow because "this ideological war we're in is going to last a while."
An idealogical war, isnt that one of the things the middle east has been involved in for oh say the past 2000 years? Such a lovely thing to become involved in. (/sarcasm)

Arenaboy: I'd say a lot of people have died due to the blowjob Bush II gave the american public and congress over iraq.

Did anyone see the Rolling Stone this month? Granted, they are biased, but they interviewed this guy that used to run the World Bank who said that we could have fixed Social Security with all this money we're spending on the war. It has a picture of Uncle Sam sitting at a table after what has obviously been a big, expensive meal, with the piles of empty plates, wine bottles, and whatnot. So the waiter is giving Uncle Sam the bill, which is obviously huge, because he looks like:

Meanwhile, Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld are walking away from the table with looks on their face like: Thought it was pretty representative of what we are going through right now. I really try not to be biased growing up with a liberal upbringing, but really, c'mon. It's time to put the whole Bible-thumping, holier-than-thou mentality to rest and start taking care of our own country.

The biggest excuse I hear for everyone voting for the same crop of retards:

"Well look who's running against them!"

                  My biggest retort:

"Well look who we got running the country right now!"

I would openly EMBRACE Hillary Clinton in '08 than any stupid Bush tool the Republicans send out to run in '08.

Because a lot of people here think that trading freedom for perceived "safety and security" will prevent 9/11 from ever happening again and that we'll all be safe. Sure, it looks great on paper and it sounds great when Bush and the Republicans preach about it while they praise Jesus in the same sentence. Even I thought it was great until I actually thought about it. With all these new and goofy security measures already in place it still happened. All the new security procedures that have been introduced to our nation's schools have NOT put a stop to school shootings. And all the stupid gun control laws here have NOT put a stop to violent crime. But most people here dont wanna hear that and just wanna hear what they wanna hear.

Benjamin Franklin couldnt have said it better himself....

The only good thing I can say about Bush is that at least he can't run again. No one has ever made me want to punch the TV more than he has. I'm glad to see that people are starting to wise up to his bullshit, but I'm wondering just what the hell took so long? Normally, I can see both sides of the argument, but I can't see how anyone can think he's doing a good job.

I only started voting a little over a year ago, thanks to a very politically-oriented friend who persuaded me to start voting, so I didn't vote for or against him either time, but at least this time around, I was able to help get rid of his clone, who most people know as Rick Santorum.

I think what pisses me off most about him is that if you dare to disagree with him, you're branded "unpatriotic", a traitor, or a terrorist. Sounds like a classic case of "pot, kettle" to me.
--- I want the republicans out of my bedroom, the democrats out of my wallet, and both out of my first and second amendment rights. Whether you are part of the anal-retentive overly politically-correct left, or the bible-thumping bellowing right, get out of the thought control business --- Alan Nathan

To those who do not exactly like Bush there is a band called the Flaming Lips who just released an album titled At War with the Mystics. The entire album criticises Bush and his actions, very notable in a song called Haven't Got a Clue where a lyric reads: Every time you throw a fit, I can't decide if your full of it, Every time you state your case the more I like to punch your face. And Mike that song would suit you because I've been through that phase so many times. The sad thing is my dad loves the guy. I feel bad for him because his son (me) is as left as they come and we refuse to talk politics. Many of his actions could've been used for better things but it's been wasted on this war and I have a friend serving the Army and I'm worried that he'll get killed because of the war. Also on a side note, did anyone ever notice that it's the ones who never served a war that want a war and that those that served want to avoid it at all costs? Bush has no idea as to not only what he's putting us through, but what he's putting families through as well.

The reason that the people who didn't go to Vietnam are so for this occupation of Iraq is because they don't know what it is like. The only member of the Bush administration that had doubts about it was Collin Powell, who was a four star general, and he got fired after Bush's First term.

The thing that amazes me the most about this is how they were able to spin John Kerry's military record. Here was a highly decorated veteran whom they made out to be a coward, while the guy who went AWOL from his national guard unit was the brave one.
