The change was designed mainly to prevent people who briefly visit a combat or danger zone from receiving the same pay as someone assigned to a deployed unit. Under the previous rules, a person could schedule a visit to an eligible area on the last day of one month, depart the next day and collect two full months of danger pay.

I'm suspicious anyway because at least one of the supposed sins of Obama the article lists (taking away hazard pay) only works as a serious complaint when twisted beyond any possible intention of honest representation of facts. from Snopes, quoting Air Force Times:So they switched to paying per day instead of only in whole months. A far more rational system anyway. Certainly not one a sane and honest person would depict as "suspend[ing] hazard pay for deployed troops." And any article that so casually spreads an older lie cannot be trusted, without outside verification, to be truthful about anything else.

You know... it's funny. You Google this incident and the only article it brings up of this nature is this very article you linked. It may be on a different site, but it is the same "essay,"word for word.Originally posted by PepperElf View Posthttp://5440fight.com/2012/05/28/obam...l-for-7-hours/
Vets visiting the Viet Nam Memorial Wall were rather pissed when it was closed off for 7 hours for an Obama speech that lasted 30 minutes or so.
Not even Fox News, Beck, or Limbaugh have jumped on this.
