I'll consider moving when government actions (from either side of the political divide) start directly affecting my ability to live, work, and pursue happiness. I'm not going to move over some hand-wavy panic caused by an election.

Which is the really funny part.
This. So this. What these nut jobs (and yes, the liberal ones when the tables are turned) don't realize is for all its flaws, the US is a pretty good place to live. I'm sure Australia or Canada would be just fine places to live (though Canada is too cold most of the year for my taste), but I see little need to give up what I have here (friends, job, house, family, contacts) just to move to another country that offers a government that, for all practical purposes, is no better or worse than the one I'd be leaving.Originally posted by Nekojin View PostI'll consider moving when government actions (from either side of the political divide) start directly affecting my ability to live, work, and pursue happiness. Yes, liberals did make that noise when Bush was elected. A good friend of mine made similar noise to move to New Zealand if McCain won in 2008. But it's no where near as ridiculous as the idea of US conservatives moving to a country that has exactly what they complain Obama wants to offer here.Good news! Your insurance company says they'll cover you. Unfortunately, they also say it will be with dirt.
