I think the_std hit the nail on the head... it's more a jackass thing than a man thing.

I know that for me having my partner start gargling or gagging would be a pretty big turn off... that may have to do with *gets real quite and makes sure Red Headed Phone Girl isn't listening* the fact that I'm a bit of a teddy bear. I personally don't enjoy video porn very much. Actually, porn is like that for me too. When I watch porn, it's always just for the sound. If it's visually pleasing, bonus, but that's kind of rare. It's far more exciting to me to hear people getting off, than to see it happening, especially in "professional" porn where I just can't get over how visually fake it is.

The real reason that so many porn males are ugly is because while the most important thing for a female is to be pretty it is never the first priority for the male. The first priority for the male is to be able to do "reshoots". Most men can't "reshoot" scenes anywhere near as often as a movie requires.

It can't be to assuage male viewer egos or they wouldn't use "actors" with average plus sized penises.
