though I will say my co-worker Sean and I had lengthy discussions on how we envisioned the characters, using their personalities(we're strange, we don't think so much in terms of physical appearance so much, as acting ability) and what actors we thought would be best for the roles, a few examples:

Finnik-Jean-Claude VanDamme(in his 40's-50's and still in good shape)
Beetie-Morgan Freeman(due to his role as Fawkes in Batman)
Johanna-Zoƫ Saldana(due to her role in Columbiana), or Rose McGowin
Coin(who appears later in book 2)-either Jeri Ryan, Grace Jones, or Phylicia Rashad-she is a very strong, authoritative female lead, and those were the strongest females we could think of.
Wiress-Sally Field(she was supposed to be older, slight build, and "fragile")

But Finnik in only in his mid to late 20's in the book. He won the games at 14 (??) 10 or so years prior to Catching Fire.
