You'll see multiple threads, with multiple intelligent, reasoning people from all over the US saying "I don't trust my government to do X without screwing up," or "I don't trust my government not to abuse Y," even moreso when it's something that other countries already do X/don't do Y.

I don't trust my government no matter who is president, to a certain extent. Yes, I voted them into the office with the hope they'll do something to help me and my country, but they do sometimes move away from the views that got them elected in the first place, and then I complain.

However, I do not distrust my government so much that I would kill a government worker! That's just ... Batshit crazy in my book.

There's a kind of logic there... "I'm unsure whether the government will do what I want, but if I kill their employees then I know they definitely WILL do something I won't like and certainty is better than worry."
