If you think you have greater insights into how the military as a whole thinks and operates because you're enlisted, then give us some evidence of that. I'm not saying you don't, but I'm also not going to accept your opinion over that of someone else just because you're in the airforce.

I care about civil rights and equality for all people, and that includes soldiers. Yes, becoming a soldier means giving up a lot of freedoms to the US Military. However, some civil rights are not to be infringed and that includes segregation. BTW, I feel this should be across the board for all members of the US Military, since I do not see one branch as superior to the others. Just sayin'.

When did I say one branch was greater than the other?

If having gays is disruptive then so is having women. Inevitably there are going to be women serving some of whom the guys don't want to sleep with. Yes I know now someone will make the argument that guys aren't choosy.

Uhm yeah they are. Seriously if someone is so rattled by someone being attracted to them (but not acting on it) then they don't have the mentality to be a soldier.

That is the letter of the law... the application however is a completely different matter. The application has become that it does not matter how the military finds out, or if they even find out, they only need supsicion to begin proceedings.

Now, there I have to disagree with you. I believe in gay rights but...when it comes down to it, it's how our servicemen feel. Good order and discipline is necessary in the military.
