Weird how that never happened to Nickelback. O_o They have a song called "Never Again" which is about domestic violence that ends with the wife shooting her husband.

well one it's nickelback -and two did it ever get airplay? I've never heard of it.

It's off their first album; and I certainly heard it played on the radio and also on Kerrang! channel on satellite. Maybe over here it's different, I don't know.

Wendy McElroy, by the way, was a victim of severe domestic violence herself. While many people in her position would, sadly, turn their ordeal into a source of hatred, Ms. McElroy has chosen to channel her experiences in a positive direction, as a point of identification with all victims of domestic abuse, both male and female.

Of particular note : Back in 2003, this article appeared on their website, analyzing the behavior of female abusers and the difficulties faced by male victims.


Finally, there are rays of hope. This 2006 article describes a lawsuit filed in California, seeking to require state-funded domestic violence services to be available to both men and women. Two years later, a victory was achieved.

For the record, the idea that women don't cause as much harm because of their smaller size is nonsense. Violent women have been known to use weapons when they attack their partners.

Not only that, but if a man reports it (which isn't likely considering everyone knows it's impossible for a woman to abuse a man, even Family Guy says so ), he is more likely to downplay what harm has been done (after all, he is the man, society expects him to be strong and invincible).
