  • Newborn's Body Found In Hotel Room

I don't post often here, mostly over at CS, but I had to share this wit you all:

    http://www.messengernews.net/page/co....html?nav=5010

THIS was the main headline in the local paper this morning. Sickening. Just sickening. I understand being scared. I even understand not wanting a child you're carrying. There are options though--adoption for example--a lot better options than what this...person...did! Now, I could MAYBE see a young girl being scared, and trying to hide the pregnancy and baby and all but...a 31 year old woman? There IS the possibility she's not mentally all there, but still...Why? Just why? I just don't understand it, and it makes my stomach turn and my head hurt thinking about it! I am not a mother, nor have I ever been pregnant, but I can't imagine doing this to my own child. I just...can't.

I wish there were a bit more in the story; what little IS there leaves far too many questions in my mind.

I know. Far too many questions, but it's still breaking news. I'll try and add more as I find it.

there is the fact which ads to the OP's statement of not all there, some women do not want a baby so much that they don't even want to go through the whole pregnancy or by the time the woman decides this its too late to do anything about it and end up having the baby and....yeah..i don't want to read the article...the op's words are enough for me to understand it was horrific
Repeat after me, "I'm over it"
        Yeah we're so over, over
Things I hate, that even after all this time...I still came back to the scene of the crime

There's not much detail yet, Lexia, but I assume more will be revealed in the coming days and weeks. I do feel for whoever discovered the body though. Poor person must be absolutely traumatized.

There has to be more to this. It didn't even say how the baby died other than "not by natural causes".

Unfortunately, there is just far too little information to even begin to make any sort of judgment regarding the mother. It will be interesting to see what develops.

Here's an article from one of the TV stations. Still not much detail, but a bit more. http://www.ketv.com/news/29257285/detail.html

Like the OP, I'm not a parent nor have I ever been pregnant but it's just incredibly sickening that this woman killed this newborn baby because she didn't want it! She could've put it up for adoption or drop it off at a safe haven (fire station, hospital, etc.) for fuck's sake!!
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people...

My first post though may have been over reacting...I don't know yet. One person pointed out that when people panic, they can do destructive things. I just don't know...I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for developments on this.

Honestly, this whole topic sounds like rage porn fodder to me. There is nothing good about this situation, and the choice this woman made was pretty obviously reached through terrible conditions. I cannot imagine a worse hell than living with the knowledge that I'd done something on par to what she's done. So... What's the point of flipping out? Yeah, it's sad that the baby died. In a perfect world, she'd have taken care of it and raised it. But none of us were there. We will never know exactly what happened, exactly why she felt it necessary to do this. Until we do, why work ourselves into a froth? It serves no purpose.

One thing I'd like to point out is that nobody actually knows who did what. So far, there's been zero mention of the father. Where was he in all of this?

Absent actual facts beyond names and results, any rush to judgment is premature.

Andara, second article I posted said she acted alone. I have to wonder if perhaps the child was the result of unwanted relations or something. There still is nothing being released, other than the woman couldn't be booked into jail for medical reasons, which makes sense seeing as she had just given birth. As for the father, who knows? I'm interested to see the rest of the details of this get revealed.

                            agree on the panic reaction.
And as bad as it sounds, alot of women who have a kid endure a post partum depression so bad that such a thing is possible. Doesn't make it right but still scary and wrong. I believe that because maybe there was no one there to be her voice of reason, it happened.

As of today, she has been booked.

I find the fact that there are so many details that they are withholding from the public to be extremely interesting. This is normally a tactic used to help identify those involved who slip up with information that would not be known to those who weren't there.

They still list her as the "only suspect," currently.
