How about looking for the wrong car? If I go somewhere with another person in their vehicle (or worse, drove someone else's by myself for whatever reason) I tend to forget and look for mine. Or, like a few weeks ago, i was visiting Mom, who said she needed to run to the store for cat food. I started to say "that's OK, there's a bag in the trunk" before realizing that, while that was true, the car was 300 miles away.

The afternoon show on the local talk radio has a segment called Stupidnews. By far the most stories some from FL. The host says today's story comes from "Flor I" and the producer chimes in with "Duh."
I might be mistaken but it seems that most of the stupid stories come from the yankified parts of the state.
