  • Breastfeeding dad

A transgendered individual went through surgery to become a man, then married a man because he is homosexual (self-proclaimed). He breastfeeds their child and is upset that he cannot become a La Leche League representative. They were able to help him breastfeed his son, but they have a strict "women only" policy.

I'm pretty disgusted with the comments on the article...people are saying things that "that thing shouldn't be allowed to breed" and "I hope he finds the Lord" and other such nonsense. Yes, it's a little odd to see a man breastfeeding but how does that make him a bad parent? He is trying to give his kid optimal nutrition. Meanwhile there are horrid child abusing parents all over the place that are far more deserving of that hate.

IN addition to the above-mentioned article, I have heard of biological men producing milk for their children and women producing milk without having had a baby...with the right stimulation.

    Here's the other article: http://web.archive.org/web/200406121...sm_700634.html

WARNING: semi-safe for work. (naked male chest, but breastfeeding kid....so grey area)

All of these provide SOME information to it as well.

Outside of the issue of men breastfeeding (which I have no issue with), if they have a strict women only policy and he decided to become a man then he no longer fits their criteria.

Now I wonder if it was reversed, a man becoming a woman, and could breast feed would they cry "but they weren't BORN a woman!"

As are a lot of the lactivists; I remember on another forum, a woman who'd had a double masectomy was criticised by some hardcore lactivists for not breastfeeding, tho how they expected a woman who had no breasts to do that, I don't know.
"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."
