A New App To Help Women Measure Their Bust Size

Application Developer Third Love has created a smartphone app that supposedly accurately measures a woman's bust size after taking a front and side picture of their breasts.

For starters, I don't think this is even possible. Even if they had your accurate height and weight measurements, they'd still need more info like body shape and body fat percentage to be accurate.

I'm in the group that thinks this is a scam to get free pics of women's boobs. What happens if an underage girl gets and uses it? Doesn't that become an issue with creating and distributing child porn?

What happens when someone hacks their database?

Best part? According to the gizmodo article, the app doesnt even tell you the measurements--it just offers a custom made ThirdLove bra that will, supposedly, fit perfectly.

Why on earth would height, weight, or BMI be necessary for accurate bust measurement?

With the right equipment, I imagine you could do ok with just front and side images, actually. Not as good as with a tape measure, however, and your other concerns are valid.

Just to stop the parade a moment. If you actually read the links to the articles you posted you'd know that you don't send them nude pics. You wear a tank top while doing it. They don't want your nude selfies. Therefore there is no concern about underage porn or amassing some sort of weird NASA tittle wank database.

Proportions are difficult to judge from pictures alone. You can take 5 different women, all of various height and weight but identical bust size, and they will appear different in photos. Hell, they'll appear different in person as well.

Again, this gets to accuracy. The fit of the clothing and how well it's captured in the image can skew results.

I remember using one of those "which celebrity do you resemble?" programs with a police sketch of the "Zodiac Killer." Had some interesting results with that one…

To be honest this was quite a number of years ago so I can't recall much, but I think two of the results had been John Leguizamo and Helen Hunt… two people hated by Maddox of The Page in the Universe. Coincidence?
