    But not really surprising

    http://www.wnem.com/story/23532782/l...ffed-paychecks

owner closes down restaurant NO paychecks (for a months wages) and leaves.

Employees keep the place open to make up the money they loose.
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

Jeez. I have to give the employees a lot of credit for what they are doing. I was almost in a similar situation several years ago but fortunately I got out of there before things got that bad. People I knew that stuck it through to the bitter end despite having paycheques bounce and then finally not getting their final paycheques (or reimbursed for the bounced ones) never even had an option like this one in this story.

Managers who pull this sort of thing really piss me off

Wow, some people are just horrible. You need to pay your employees. I had a friend who owned a business that was losing money due to contract issues with a client. He stopped paying himself, and got an additional full time job and used that money, his savings, and cashed out investments to make sure his crew got paid. I wish there were more people like him, and less like the owner in this story.
