It's *always* about making sure you're the biggest in the yard.

I'll admit to accusing people of overcompensating... but I don't think that's quite the same of accusing someone of having TPS, because it does not matter how big or small one's dick is for one to be insecure and feel the need to compensate in other ways and go overboard.
When I worked at Carl's Jr. we had a regular who would come in, and every time she complained about how much she hated driving the hummer... finally I asked her if she hated the car so much why did they buy it, and she told me point blank "my husband, despite having a member worthy of belonging to a porn star has self image issues, thinks he isn't man enough, so he drives monsters like the hummer to prove that he is indeed a man"

So, acting like an asshole because of insecurity of one's genitalia has little to do with size.

And not that it's much consulation Broom, but there are plenty of people out there who don't mind smaller manparts. Can't speak for the woman folk (or even really manfolk, just myself), while I of course won't complain about ending up in bed with a guy with a huge member, being one who prefers oral to anal, a smaller shaft is less likely to trigger a gag reflex so I aint going to complain about that either

I shall be in agreement with BJ.

You'll notice a lot of time that unrelated physical features are espoused as being the reason for a person's behaviour... and really, it's not right at all. Strangely, sexuality seems to be a big hit... cos, apparently, sex is so damn important.

But I confess a confusion BJ... why is the vehicular penis extension any different to the other situations.

I could buy that, but in this case, the behaviour has nothing to do with being macho. His behaviour is simply about not getting what he wanted. So it's not the SC doing the equating.

It's poor wording. When someone says "Must be Tiny Penis Syndrome", what they really mean is that the douche in question is equating macho asshole behaviour with being a man. We all know, of course, that real men are secure enough in themselves to treat everyone (especially those weaker than him) with courtesy and respect.

So I agree, no one should be equating either manliness OR asshole behaviour to penis size. As a woman, I'd hate it if any personality defects or attributes were associated with breast size.

started a topic "TPS" (Possibly TMI)

    "TPS" (Possibly TMI)

It's not fair to base someone being sucky based on physical characteristics. We agree that being black, or Asian, or old, or fat doesn't make a person sucky. The fact that they're behaving like an asshole is why they're sucky.

So why is it okay to ascribe someone's jerkyness to "Tiny Penis Syndrome?" I'm not talking about saying "nice penis extension" to someone with a shiny red sports car, since that's referencing "weiner waving contests" where some guy just needs to have the bigger dick. There's no judgement on how big his penis actually is in that case. I'm talking specifically about cases where someone says "He's probably got a small dick" as if an undersized male member is the cause of assholeish behaviour. Why is this acceptable?

Men constantly have it drilled in to them that if they've got a small dick, ladies are already simply going to point and laugh. So why are we adding to the social stigma of an accident of genetics by saying it causes personality defects?

Dear reader, you've probably guessed by now, I have a small dick. I won't say how small, 'cause it's none of your business other than I'll say the following: I have troubles getting changed in public changerooms such as at swimming pools, and it's not because I'm fat. Even if I lost all my extra weight, I'd still be under the 6" average by a few inches. It's basically the one aspect of my self where the only suitable adjectives are "self-loathing" and "shame." It's literally to the point where I'm relationship-adverse over it.

So each time someone says "He's got Tiny Penis Syndrome," or "Guy's got a tiny dick to compensate for," it feels like a personal attack, no different from if someone said "Damn fatties breaking chairs" or "Damned stupid kids." And don't talk to me about "metaphorical" penises, because that's still attaching a negative value to a part of my body.

    I hate. HATE "TPS."
