  • My dad and his wife.

I've brought up my father before here, but I recently found out a few things that really pissed me off.

My mom was talking to a neighbour of his and apparently he has a new truck. And if I know him it would be a brand new truck, not a used one. Even with a trade in, which I don't even know if he did, he had to have spent at the very least $20 000. They also recently bought tickets for his wife's son to the WWE, which I'm fairly certain wasn't in our hometown. They also got tickets to go to a concert out of town, when they just had a vacation down here in Vancouver, where by the way they never even attempted to call or say hello, not that I really wanted them to, but for all his ignoring of the issue and pretending things are normal, you'd think he'd have half an hour to spare out of his casino time.

It's nice to see him treating her kids better than he ever treated me. This isn't even that I dislike the kids, well, I dislike her son because he's exactly like her. But her daughter I don't really have a huge problem with. I also gave his wife a fair chance, hell until the last year and a half I got along with her pretty well, but now I've seen through her smokescreen. She has a reputation for being someone who was looking for a guy with a good paycheque. Her whole family disgusts me, they play the system for whatever they can, it's all about money to them. What I want is to be able to have the father I knew back, which I don't think is going to happen.

You kinda just get used to it after awhile. I'm lucky I'm the second child. I learned to expect to get screwed over and ignored. Did it bother me when it first started happening? Yea. Went through some therapy. But after years of it, I kinda just learned the most important lesson in this situation: If you don't get your hopes up, don't have any expectations, you can't get disappointed. It's sad but it's true.

I'm just glad I have my mom.

It would be nice if my dad gave a shit about me graduating in less than a month, but seeing as he thought I was done already and did fuck all I'm doubting that's the case.
