Ok..not the days themselves, but the theory behind them.
Valentines Day - Never quite wrapped my head around the "Need a special day to include romance" mindset. Do we REALLY need a day specifically to let our 'special other(s)' know how special they are? We have to schedule romance and such now?
People feel obligated to do something special for the day, and it becomes more work then anything. Heaven forbid if you forget it for some reason. What ever happened to just leaving small but affectionate notes saying things like "Thinking of you." Ah wait, I forgot holidays are about the expensive things. *sighs*
Sweetest Day - Ok..so one wasn't enough? Now there is another one? A pale, obvious imitation to boot.
Christmas - This really is my pet peeve. Lets forget for a bit that Christ was probably born somewhere in summer..and get right down too it. It never should be about the most expensive gadget, or tons of toys that only a quarter ever get used. Something personal, made by a person's hand..is much much more preferred then anything. With most kids getting any toy they want year round..Christmas just seems another day...unfortunately.
Of course most of the holidays never were about what they claim to be about..what they SHOULD be about..but when has that stopped the money train from rolling?

It's all about being with those close to you.

At least Valentine's Day has some kind of longer-standing history, even if it has little relation to it anymore. Sweetest Day was born upon pure greed and nothing more. I refuse to celebrate it.
