I agree, I did notice last time I went in they moved the Non-Smoking tables to a different place where it's a bit seperated from most of the other tables. Kinda wish they would use their spare building as a non-smoking gaming floor. For some reason, play just seems to be more pleasant when you don't have someone chain smoking next to you or have to worry about that one hand yelling person who forgets there is something hot in his hands.

I smoke, but have no problem not smoking around non-smokers. Even in my own car if I know it bothers them.

I have no problem keeping my bad habit to myself but I agree with OP in that I hate being nagged about it.

What aggravates me is when I head to my favorite place to play BJ, I'll sit at a favorite No Smoking table and people will stand behind us and smoke. I asked the dealer if he could do anything and he shrugged his shoulders saying that because they weren't sitting at the table he couldn't make them stop. But really, one of the guys did ask and just got attitude back. I wish we had stopped playing then since the smoker was just a watcher.

That is total horseshit! So according to the dealer, you can't smoke whilst sitting and playing, but you can stand right there in basically the same spot and NOT play, and it's cool? That's insane!

I understand two tables down is a smoking table, hell the one next to us that night was a smoking table. But one of the smokers over there waited for a chair to be open away from our table saying it wasn't fair to us non-smokers to get his cigar smoke in our hair.

I still came out with smoky hair that one of my coworkers commented on and that was after my morning shower. I now make sure I have lemon juice available after I go so I can soak my hair in that and then take a shower.

Great topic, Bex. I suspect it will get lots of replies, as (if memory serves) there are a handful of posters here that think all smokers are inconsiderate, nasty and basically evil-incarnate.

I'm a non-smoker, but I agree with you on all three points.

Well, except that once a person gets pregnant and chooses to bear the kid, it's not just their body any longer. And while I don't support a full ban on doing potentially damaging things while pregnant or while around women who are pregnant, people really need to be more thoughtful about how their choices affect others, particularly those who don't get a say in whether they're affected.

I am a smoker. I actually enjoy it, minus the part where it could potentially kill me. Oh well, gotta die somehow. There are a couple of things I hate:

The Naggers
I don't mind so much of people looking out for my health. Thats fine. But when they keep coming at me like I'm gonna change my mind and go "OMG, I did not realize this is gonna kill me. Thanks for saving my life." I try to tell those people to mind their own business. You don't know me. You don't own me. Leave me alone. I can't go on a smoke break at work without someone going "You know thats bad for you. My son now has a voice box because of it."

Smoking Around Children
I try to stay a good distance away from kids. They don't ask for second hand smoking. I espcially don't smoke around newborns. I don't like it when I see people smoking around their kids. But its not my place to tell them what to do. I just want to vent that out. I actually felt bad at a laundry mat when i didn't know there were kids or a newborn child around till I was half way through the cigarette.

Smoking/Being Around Smokers While Pregnant
One of my ex friends, who doesn't smoke, was around smokers in a house. Her child was born with a bunch of health problems. One of the causes was that reason. I'm shocked another person I knew was smoking while pregnant of how the kid was ok (that I know of). Thats not the reason I stopped talking to them, but still. I know, their body. Their kid. Still aggravates me.
