Well, for a certain definition of "bipartisanship", yes. Specifically, "STFU and vote the way we tell you to"
Romney made an announcement today that essentially says Obama bought the election.

The Big O spent his money on stupid crap (ads of exceedingly dubious veracity) before the election, and now Romney is spending his money -- or, at least, his political currency -- on his own stupid crap.

This line is devoted to both of them (skip to the last 5 paragraphs if you just want the relevant context):

"Such was the worth of the king's currency, and [King] Slately spent his lies well."

more OT edit: this secession thing is getting out of hand -- all 50 states now have such petitions, according to the LA Times

It's the cheater's mentality. It runs under the idea of "I cheated to win but I still lost so my opponent MUST have been cheating if he beat me."

    Same idea really.

This is from a couple weeks ago- Money each campaign has access to. Includes SUPER Pacs.

It looks like Romney had more high dollar donation's, but overall Obama still had more donations.

Romney is pretty much from Massachusetts (sorry when he told the main industry of his home state to go fuck itself, he lost all claim to being from Michigan) which probably means he's a Red Sox fan which means he probably has their same thought process when it comes to certain other teams that normally best them.....not mentioning any names though....But there used to be a ship named after the current owner's grandpa.....

I concur. I hope the second word is 'off'.

Buying the election - from the sheer amount of money raised for campaigning by both sides, I'd say both sides could be seen as guilty in that regards.

Really now? "Bought the election"? I guess he spent more, but only if that argument can be used for every other winner.

Not too likely. Obama is trying to gain bipartisanship; he won't give his enemies ammunition by mocking these nut jobs, whose real goal is simply to back Obama into a corner.

He's smarter than they are. They will fail.

    Posted from my phone.
Bobby Jindal, the Republican gov of Louisiana, has publicly called for his party to "get rid of the stupid" in the GOP; to abandon the conspiracy theory, sour grapes, simplistic arguments.

However, the stupid runs the GOP right now, and I doubt that saner heads will prevail anytime soon. Romney made an announcement today that essentially says Obama bought the election.

I don't hate Yankees per se...^_^ Just certain ones or certain yankee cities like NYC and Atlanta (WHO DAT!).

wolfie -- the ad has several variants, it was part of a campaign that ran for some time. My anecdote's time frame would have been in the early to mid 2000's.

edit: found it ! - or, at least, the version that still said new jersey rather than NYC (it was later changed)

OK im have been looking for something but.. two links I cant get to at work 1. stated that 80% of the signatures were the same across ALL the petitions and 2. that after the civil war congress enacted a law making it illegal to succeed from the US soo... yeah.. (again stupid work for no backup on this) however, perhaps if the government stated they would allow it under rules such as: 1. We the United States repossess ALL military hardware for protections at all of our bases and armories 2. utility lines will be cut and your new country must produce its own power, water and gas itself or pay to import it 3. Passports required to come and go from your new country. Lets see how well that would go over hmm...

The first time my Dad and I saw this ad, we spontaneously shouted out "Lynch him!", in a horribly bad Texan-ish accent, in perfect unison, before the last line was spoken. Wonderful moment
Were you and I watching the same ad? I recall the ad for Pace picante sauce, where one cowboy said "This picante sauce was made in New Jersey!".

Oh well, one bad (big) apple spoils the barrel.

The awesomeness of Tommy Shaw counteracts Ted Nugent. He's like an anti-idiot shield.

And as a Yank who lives and travels in the south a lot, the worst I've gotten is "your accent is funny." I'm from Baltimore, I know my accent is funny.
