Motorbike boots? XD I use my pair for winter walking; they're warm, waterproof and comfy. Plus there's good grip.

The brand I like is Propet and I bought them at www.shoebuy.comOriginally posted by XCashier View PostA bit off topic, but can anyone recommend a good type of boot for winter wear? I want something waterproof, warm, good traction and will last for years, but not ridiculously expensive. My old hiking boots from Arizona don't work too well here.
They're having a 20% off sale as I type. Shipping and if needed return shipping is included. I buy just about all my shoes from them.
I like Propet because they also make shoes/boots/sandles in 4 and 5 E sizes.

Ugh, I hate Uggs. They look like a pair of dead ferrets wrapped around someone's legs. -.-Originally posted by AdminAssistant View PostI'm actually trying to convince my Mom that while I need new boots, Uggs are not practical and I think they're hideous. I get people giving me crap about my old hoodie. "But it's ollldddd! When are you going to get a new one?" How about never? It's comfy, and I happen to like it. I don't want a new one.

More an accessory than a piece of clothing but here you can tell who grew up here and who didn't most times by who has an umbrella when the rain is light.
By light I mean it isn't pounding down so hard your soaked the second you step into it.
We get a lot of rain but most of it isn't a big deal as such most of us don't use an umbrella and look at our friends that do and playfully call them tourists.
As such no I am not cold if I forgot my jacket. No I don't think I am better than you because you need one and I don't. I don't need an umbrella unless I have my laptop with me because not only am I water proof but my body turns water into energy. I am that dang good.

People always joke about the way I bundle up during winter; I wrap my scarf in such a way that it comes up over my nose and completely covers my face. I don't like being cold. I don't like having that wonderful Plains wind completely suck the breath out of me. Although I've built up more of a tolerance to the cold, I will never get used to that wind.

Amen, sister!
I'm getting the same thing with my winter boots, mostly from people I barely know.
"Those things can't possibly be waterproof! Do they actually keep your feet warm?"
No, they aren't waterproof. Yes, they are wonderfully warm and cozy.
But that's really beside the point. The point is that I have said nothing about my feet being wet or cold. Nothing at all. I am not concerned about my feet. Why are you?
The only person in the world who has the right to question my choice of footwear is my mom. I may be an adult, but mothers get a free pass in my books, because they will always worry about their children being warm and safe in the winter.
My mom has said nothing about my boots.

I'll Wear Whatever I Want, Thanks!
So sick of coworkers bitching about what I wear, and I don't mean like the way things used to be where I was constantly getting called into the boss' office for wearing "inappropriate" clothing.
I mean I am sick and tired of minding my business and hearing "When are you going to get some real shoes?!" because I'm still wearing the flat, slipper like shoes that are more suited for spring/summer/fall.
Or even better "How can you wear flat shoes and work all night!?". If it wouldn't make me look like such an ass, I'd respond "Because I'm not 300 pounds like you are and walking and standing doesn't bother me!" instead of my usual smirk and a "Because I can and it works."
Or the "When are you going to get a real winter coat?!" After Christmas you fucking assholes. Money isn't growing on trees, despite all the overtime, I've been trying to get rid of debts and save as much as possible for Christmas presents, and I've even saved a slinch for myself for a decent pair of boots and a new winter coat for AFTER Christmas (that and I procrastinated and didn't really think that we'd have over a foot of snow and be -20 yet!).
I guess this doesn't really pertain to my individuality, more like seasonal clothes, but I hear it every night and I'm sick of it.Tags: None
