I have a TV (mostly for DVDs) but I don't like television programming. Nothing good is really on, when it's convenient for me (I work nights).
And with a computer you can do all kinds of craziness nowadays, Project Free TV (http://www.free-tv-video-online.info/) has movies and TV shows for free online. I won't comment about quality, but it is available.

Haven't watched television in ages; I bought myself a 19" HD screen for my Xbox 360/Playstation 2 and various movies/programs (Pee Wee's Playhouse, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, etc.).
