    Done and done.

Now, in the same light, I expect you to remove YOUR accusation as well:

"Well, since you consider yourself better than everybody else,"

    UHm what?

    Oh.

Yeah reread that a couple of times and if you don't realize you just said, "They aren't out to get me except they are" then I don't know what language your speaking.

as for $ coming across as s. It's not twisting brains. People us $ in place of s most commonly not to censor themselves but to get around programs that censor them. Usually anti swearing programs won't recognize and block the word shit if it is spelled $hit. Seriously putting $ is just putting a line through s and is no more effective than when a TV show censoring a word goes FbeepK. We all know what was said and it was the clever way of the TV show letting us know what was said.

It's actually often more effective as swearing because people will notice it more. Using words like farbot would be less noticeable. In my mind changing out various symbols isn't censoring yourself because I still know what you said. I do not use other people's behavior to determine what is legal because what they may or may not get away with has nothing to do with if I will get away with it.

Nor do I think that when that other person gets in trouble they will sound trumpets and make a big announcement so that I can feel better that the unannounced time I got in trouble I wasn't alone.

Didn't realize there was another post to reply to so here goes....

"No one except you?" was said...in regards to no one getting to use the ignorance excuse.

It seems now to be twisted around so that I am saying I get all these breaks and excuses and no one else does.

That is not how it is.

    It's like this:

    I make my argument.

My argument is refuted by the general consensus. I understand that. So therefore, the general consensus is that just because I didn't read something, it's still no excuse.

So I'm just applying that universally. I don't the excuse, so no one else does either.

That's how it is. If the general consensus wants to change, and say "It's ok if you're too busy to ready every post". then it applies to everyone. Me, mods, you, them, him, her, whoever.

I'm not expecting special treatment nor asking for it. I just want SAME treatment.

For example, I was apparently reported for referring to someone as a homophobe in an earlier post. That's fine, but if I'm to be reprimanded in any way, I expect the same for the guy who said I think I'm better than everyone else. Let's watch and see what happens.

Yes, mods it was reported...so far nothing's been done. If this post gets me banned so be it.
I've already explained this. My calling you a homophobe was not serious. Quite frankly it was a ridiculous statement, yes? Just like what you said to me was. It was a way of leading by example I guess, and it went right over people's heads. But it's been explained now and we can move on.

    No one except you?

    Yep. Just like that.

Again in general, or just when it affects you? Other people's ignorance is inexcusable but yours is acceptable? Did I read that right?

Please explain why it's okay for you to say you don't have the time to sort through some static rules of the house before you enjoy your host's hospitality, but it's not okay for other people to accidentally miss a post here and there when they are actively trying to be thorough in an ever-changing and ever growing body of content.

Do you report the posts you find offensive to help these mods you are complaining about out a little, or is that too much work for you to undertake, too?

You are arguing for fairness and impartiality while standing on an extremely weak platform, sir.

For someone who dislikes double standards as much as you profess to, I'm curious why you consider this one acceptable.

    Can you explain that?
This is where we're getting confused.

The double standard I hate is that I have to read everything but other people don't. I don't have a problem reading everything.

Mods have too much to read? So don't be a mod. I know mods don't get paid, they don't get drafted either. No one forces them to do it. And I think that notion that they just "didn't see" someone else swearing is a lame excuse. If you can't handle the extra reading of being a mod then you should choose to not be one.

    Ree explained what I meant.

Of course you're allowed to back out of a debate, whenever you'd like and for whatever reason you'd like. We encourage it whenever people think they can no longer debate in a civil manner.

I was just poking a little fun.

lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. Throw in a few digs then argue that you're above the arguing haha. You don't get to make an argument and then cower away saying "no more arguing!"

    Now.....

So I don't know why the exact details matter so much, but it was on the warcraft message board, where people quite frequently use nasty, inflammatory language, and I made a comment in a thread about healers that healers who refuse to heal just because they have an attitude problem are real a$$holes. I was then banned for 72 hours.

I didn't go "looking" for loopholes. I felt like using a strong word, I saw that other people use similar strong language and don't get in trouble, so I went with it. As far as I knew I was within the bounds of the rules by censoring myself. No matter how you want to twist it around in your mind, $ does not equal S. Apparently the mods disagreed.

It wasn't CS, or Fratching. No mods here. It's not a thinly veiled argument to hate on blacks or talk about aliens and tinfoil hats.

If I could clarify, because people have an incredibly deluded view of me and I want to set the record straight - of course I know not everyone is out to get me. that'd be stupid. I've never, ever said anything that remotely sounds like "Everyone is out to get me!" Seriously, scan my posts. If you can find that phrase in there (in proper context), I will leave this board and never ever come back if that is what people so desire.

What I do believe, however, is that people frequently need a scapegoat for something. An example. And they usually choose me. Why? I'm not as likable. If life was a game of DnD, I'd have a charisma rating of 4. And I believe that when it comes time for those in power to be handing out some shit, they're going to choose me first because I'm not the homie. I'm not the bro. I'm no one's best friend with an angel on my shoulder.

So when the cop hasn't met his ticket writing quota, he's going to notice me before anyone else. When the mod needs to clean up the message board, he's not going to risk pissing off one of the MVP members who he's developed a close friendship with, he's going to pick out one of my posts to set an example and show everyone they need to follow the rules. If a company needs to throw in some cutbacks, they're going to find some bullshit reason to fire me, because I'm not their drinking buddy or their drug hookup.

I'm not saying that just because someone has negative feelings towards me they're never allowed to enforce the rules, either. That'd just be stupid as well. But they are not allowed to enforce the rules based on those negative feelings. That is wrong. It's an abuse of power.

So there ya have it. Glad we've cleared it up and you see there's no tinfoil hats over this way. I feel sorry for the ones who still won't get it.

LOL...I think she was just pointing out the irony of accusing someone else of needing to have the last word while actually having the last word yourself.

If you feel you can't comment further without getting heated or personal, by all means, back away.

The site is meant for debate after all, and not for smacking each other around verbally.

I know, that's largely fantasy, but still, if it happened would you think it was ok?
Can you clarify if you mean in general or for you specifically?
