    And that probably more than anything else was what helped the civil rights movement (not necassarily Bill Cosby, but as a general behavior). It is harder to deny someone's humanity when they are going through the exact same struggles that you are. It's hard for a rational person to listen to someone like Bill Cosby and say "hey, my dad did that too, I had the same childhood... but you're still an inferior race", you start to drag yourself down too with that logic, because you'll have to reconcile how you can have so much in common with what you considered inferior (which most people will do by saying, well, maybe they weren't as inferior as I thought... at least if they are rational... which I know isn't a guarantee).
