One thing to keep in mind, though, is that MLP IS in fact directed at kids FIRST. Not only, but first. It's good, and aimed at children. Not good despite being aimed at children.

That ones a bit more obscure than Elfen Lied. And even more messed up, too.

Ugh, Elfen Lied is just....messed up.
I enjoyed Elfen Lied until the end, which had plot holes I could have flown the Millennium Falcon through, they were so huge. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of cute with insane brutal violence.

That's just me though, I love Berserk and Blade of the Immortal too.

This scene (NSFW) from End Of Evangelion is just as disturbing, IMHO.

At one point during Elfen Lied, I looked over at Fiance and said, "I don't know who made this, but maybe the authorities should go to their house and check the closets and crawl space."

^Dear god, that manga IS messed up. I remember reading about how manga is banned in some places, over concerns that it promotes sexual violence and worse. Stuff like that doesn't help!
Ugh. Don't get me wrong, there is some awesome stuff out there, but unfortunately there's some serious fuckery too.

We got another round of WTF when they stuck Crying Freeman out on the shelf too.
....Bloody hell, what next, Bible Black?! >.<

Warning: Do NOT click the link if you are around children or at work. Not safe for soul.

Regarding the manga, I give you Number 28. That is all.

Ugh, Elfen Lied is just....messed up. Fiance had me watch it after we'd successfully gone through Gurren Lagann, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Samurai Champloo together. I'm sorry, what about those previous three made him think, "Huh, I bet she'd enjoy naked pre-teen girls murdering everything with invisible tentacles!!"?

I'd find it faintly disturbing if a parent who thought that animated stuff is always for kids decided to show Elfen Lied to their children; they'd be paying out for therapy for years afterwards.

Hey, she's the best Pinkie Pie there is, and every town needs at least one.

Of course I'm the type to remember something that crazy.

She may not be Best Pony, but Pinkie Pie is definitely fun.
