I went out, in public, wearing capri pants that cut my calves in half. (Not literally, but the way they come to an end at mid-calf ).

I see a lot of girls with awful haircuts that are stylists. They are mostly short hairstyles. I don't get what it is about girls that cut hair, it seems they all have shorter hair. I guess maybe it's to show all the fun things you can do with shorter hair and their products they sell, but it makes me scared that they are all scissor happy and I'm going to end up with hacked hair again like last spring.

NOTE: I don't have a problem with short hair on girls, in fact, I'm jealous of girls who can pull of bobs and pixies (my face is too fat and my head is too round, I have to have long, and I mean no shorter than beyond shoulder length).

But in all honesty, not many girls are cut out for spikes, mohawks, faux-hawks, androgynous slicks and short shags, and those are incredibly popular around here.

Personally, I blame Rihanna, who looked absolutely GREAT in super short spikey hair, for inspiring too many young women that they'd also look great that way. They didn't, and still don't.

I have another one to add that will just make me seem even bitchier than I already do, and will probably get me a bunch of flack but here goes:

I cannot stand when women can't dress age appropriate. And I don't mean things like local sports team hoodies or zip hoodies, sweats, multiple layers of shirts, or things that anyone of any age can wear that you see MORE adults wearing nowadays. That's fine.

I am talking about women who look exactly the age they are, not the tightest or best of body, wearing super low rise jeans with a thong hanging out, with a halter top and tons of glitter on their eyelids, and women who wear those matching track suits with super low cut camis, younger hair styles and lots of makeup. I don't mean wearing a lot of makeup period, I mean wearing makeup the way that younger women do. It doesn't look right when your face isn't young anymore. Too much makeup isn't attractive by any means, but when your skin is more mature, you shouldn't be piling on blush, three or four different eyeshadow colors, and loud, dark black eyeliner all the way around your eyes, or making that "Cat eye" extension beyond the corner of your eyes, adding gobs of glitter and lipliner to make your lips look fuller. It looks silly enough on young women.

There is nothing wrong with being the age you are. There are plenty of fun clothes that you can wear without looking like you are trying to hard to be 22 again.

I watched this new show on E!, The Dance Scene. The leading lady whatever her name was, she has part of her head shaved on one side, just a patch over by her ear.

I don't get that. I know in the 90s there were a few female rappers who did something similar. That's just stupid.

Ack, my friend has that type of cut, and she's supposed to be a hair stylist! Her bangs are also pretty bad, they're really short and kind of uneven. I keep teling her she should grow her hair out. :P

Some of the stuff guys get shaved into their buzzes is cool. Most of it, however, is pathetic, particularly the obviously home done or self done jobs.

If you're a professional cyclist, then please, keep wearing the cycling shorts.

Hotpants - Unless you're a hooker or working at a car wash, or only wearing shorts until you hit the beach, then no.

One more trend to add to the list: bike shorts. If you're not cycling, or at least doing something that requires bike shorts, DON'T WEAR THEM!

If you are just a casual biker, wear normal shorts or gym shorts. The less people wearing bike shorts, the better.

I was thinking of getting NJ shaved in my head when I buzz my hair next.

Scrunchies are rather ugly, had start wearing them again to keep my ponytail up.... But they aren't poofy or neon, or have hanging do-dads... So I think I'm okay.

Oh hell yes, scrunchies are ugly, but it does depend on the scrunchie in question. Hairties (ponytail holders) are fine. Although I can't stand the ones for kids that look absolutely poofy and horrible (they're like mini versions of the scrunchie), when a fine hairtie does the trick perfectly? Hell, a lot of companies nowadays make hairties/hair elastics without metal in them!

Yeah, scrunchies are those god awful poofy bright weird colored accessories (most women wore them on their wrist instead of in their hair anyway) that ever existed from the later 80s to the mid 90s.

One company around here called Scunchies or Schoolies makes them in the standard school uniform colours around here (quick note: Australian schools, both primary and secondary, have uniforms: the private school ones are more elaborate and usually involve blazers and the like, public school ones are more practical) which are navy blue, bottle/forest green, black, maroon, gold and white.

a) Some people I see at the gym or running/jogging......especially guys...on what planet did you think it was cool to wear hot pink short workout shorts?

b) I already brought up the neon colored sneakers before, and I just saw some more guys wearing them today. Lime green sneakers and one guy even had HOT PINK sneakers.

c) So....at this rate, I'll be seeing guys in parachute pants by summer, since we won't be getting a summer this year anyway.

d) If guys even start with the backwards hat or crazy designs shaved into their hair again, I may just go on a woodchipping spree.

I labelled all of yours so I could say what's what.

a) That person isn't from Nunavut by any chance? Or one of GK's regulars?
b) Converse around here do high-tops in neon pink and green, but that's about the extent of it. THankfully most other sneakers around here are muted. My high school English teacher wore orange Converse low-tops
c) I think a few people around here wear parachute pants....*shudder* Around here, they're known as parachute pants and thankfully not made from the same material, but still look fugly as hell.
d) One guy at my high school had a girlfriend for a hairdresser and at one point, had "howdy" shaved into his head.

I must add a new one after my foray outside today:

Absolutely anything that has words on the ass.

Especially "Juicy".

Or "Sugar" or "sexy".

Spent some of tonight looking at wedding dresses. I saw one that I liked from the thumbnail. When I saw the full pictures, there it was. A butt bow. Because every plus sized girl wants a big bow on her ass to say, "Hey, look! Here's my ass! Right here!"

Are we talking about hair bows (which aren't so bad, but can be), or hair bows (which I think are almost guaranteed to be awful, although the bottom middle one crosses over into cool).
