Hmmm...yeah I'm with the neighbor on this one! I live in an apartment with a balcony that faces some woods. It's rare for the neighbors to be walking in this particular area, but they do sometimes. I don't go out on my balcony in anything less than a tank and pants. If I need to know what it feels like outside and I'm not fully dressed, I stick my arm out of the door while hiding behind the blinds.
And I have to yell hypocrite as well. I'm sure there are people that live in your area that hate to see you in that fashion as much as you hate to see people that do not conform to your definition of attractive. Seeing anyone other than my hubby and a few select celebs in the nude is just completely nasty.

Hell, even wrap up in a towel.Originally posted by AdminAssistant View PostOnce you step out onto your balcony, you are technically out in public, and should probably cover up. If you need to know the weather, walk out in a tank and shorts or check weather.com.
Being nude in public is calling attention to yourself, no matter how you want to spin it.
And as others have mentioned, if you feel so adamant about other people being what you consider indecent you need to return the courtesy and not be indecent yourself. I do not find the female form attractive, I would not be overly thrilled at seeing a nude lady on her balcony (granted, I wouldn't be overly offended either). You would not find my overweight (6foot 250 pounds) form unattractive. So let's make a deal, I will keep my fat hidden underneath my clothes if you keep your naked body covered. Deal?

Would you have the same opinion if it was a fat person doing the exact same thing as you and you happened to see them?
Not everyone wants to look at your body, as soon as you step out on to your balcony other people can see you, they have every right to be offended, or disgusted if you're out there partially or fully naked. I don't think that makes them prudes.

Agreed. You may be on your proptery, but your out in the open with nothing to block anyone from seeing you.
Your showing off basically Red Panda, and it brings you joy to get jealousy from the other women on your block.

I'll go out on the balcony with whatever I have on before I get dressed which might be panties, panties and bra, or nothing depending on the situation. I'm out there standing around long enough to determind how warm it feels and if it feels like rain or not. I am definitly not doing anything to draw attention, so I don't even know how people would know I am there if they weren't already looking. I also tan out there topless but once again I'm not drawing attention to myself.
I'm not displaying myself. I'm going about my normal routine. When I am out of my house I present myself in a way that is not disuptive to any of the senses which I think is a common curtousy. If I smell I take steps to correct that before I leave the house. If I have something going on with my body that is gross I cover it. Thats how all people should act.Just trying to put things together here: you object to seeing certain people even fully clothed based on their appearance, even to the point of moral condemnation, but you also think *you* should display yourself undressed for the world to see, and if they don't like it that's their problem?

Wow.
Hypocrite much?
You have venomeous HATRED for people who would DARE look a certain way in your prescence....
But hey, your perfectly allowed to look however you want, and others need to get bent.
Maybe you should take your own goddamn advice, and when these people /offend/ you based on your looks, you can
A: Close your eyes
B: Turn your head.

I'm of the opinion that if people don't like what they see while looking at someone's balcony or even worse in their windows they then need to look somewhere else. One should be able to dress the way they want in their own home. By the same token I generally don't run around naked with the blinds up and the lights on either.
There was a story a while back around here about some guy that got arrested for being naked in his own kitchen, cause someone made a point of looking in his window and saw him. That is messed up. The person outside shouldn't have been looking in the window in the first place.
Now with that said I'm curious also what exactly you have on while on the balcony

Are you naked or in your bra and panties on your balcony, just standing there?
There's nothing prudish about wanting people to be decent. If I'm going to use the pool where I live, I wrap a towel or sarong around my hips so that I don't have my whole ass and thighs hanging out while I walk along the parking lot.
One night, my pain in the ass neighbor had his shades up, lights on at night and was walking around in his whitie tighties for my entire building to see if you were outside. That was something I should NOT have had to see.

Man, I've been having an issue with this one neighbor and it is so annoying.
What happens is I go out on my balcony everymorning after my shower before getting dressed to figure out what I should wear. The weather around here is so unpredictable and varies from area to area that I think this is the best way to coordinate my outfit rather then waiting for the weather to come up on the news when it might not even be accurate.
Well this one neighbor has gotten it into her head that what I do at my apartment somehow concerns her. First she told me I should cover up because children could be watching. First of all nobody around here has small kids and even then, I told her, I didn't care what they saw. Then she revealed her true face, she told me her husband sometimes saw me and she didn't like that. I informed her of two recently developed techniques that could help him avoid seeing anything he didn't want to see, one is called closing your eyes and the other is turning your head slightly.
This lady has been a thorn in my side before because she didn't like what I wear when tanning. Some people either need more problems in their life so they have something actually worth getting worked up over or they need to butt out of other people's business.Tags: None
